Information to Trip August 2010

I have just returned from a three-week stay in Kapululira village, where I was teaching the children and women, and also overseeing the primary school project and its progress in Farao village. This time I met various groups of villagers in order to talk to them more intensively and to find out as much as I could about their needs and desires, as well as their problems. There is much work to be done and Schools for Zambia e.V. has promised to intensify its help, broaden the spectrum of aid to include school uniform and school fee sponsorship, child fostering of orphans or of children greatly in need of support, assistance is to be given to local farmers and village women, in order to provide them with a means of earning more money, thus allowing them or making it easier for them to send their children to school and to attend literacy classes themselves, so they can support their children educationally.
The meeting with government officials from the Ministry of Education was quite successful and we have been promised further support in the future as we continue to build our primary school, including power being supplied on completion of the project, furniture and qualified teachers.
