Schools for Zambia e.V. ends after 10 years / Schools for Zambia e.V. endet nach 10 Jahren

 Schools for Zambia e.V. officially ended its work in Farao Village, Zambia on 31.12.2020 and no longer exists as a charity.  We would like to thank everyone who has supported us since 2010 in our endevour to provide free education for hundreds of children in the impoverished village of Farao and wish the teams, committees and villagers in Farao, with whom we worked so closely over the years, all the very best success in ensuring that the Farao Primary School may carry on its good work and that children will continue to be provided with free education and as a result a more opportunites for their future.

Schools for Zambia e.V. hat offiziell am 31.12.2020 seine Arbeit in Farao Dorf, Sambia beendet und ist nicht mehr tätig. Wir möchten hiermit allen, die uns seit 2010 unterstützt haben, dafür herzlich bedanken, dass wir es geschafft haben kostenlose Bildung für so viele Kindern zu ermöglichen.  Wir wünschen allen Menschen vor Ort das Beste mit der Weiterführung der Schule und hoffen, dass durch ihre Unterstützung, die Schule weiterhin kostenlose Bildung anbieten kann und dadurch die Kinder mehr Zukunftsmöglichkeiten zur Verfügung stellen kann.

Children of Farao School perform as part of their drama lessons

Drama lessons are part of the curriculum and here children are performing a variety of cultural traditions and dances.

Schauspielunterricht gehört zum Stundenplan und hier sieht man die Kinder bei der Darstellung von kulturellen Traditionen und Tänze.

Act of God / Naturgewalt

Recently there was a terrible storm in the village, which destroyed over 15 huts / homes.  Powermasts were blown over, and one landed on the roof of one of our school buildings, destroying part of the roof.  This a severe blow to our project, and will be very expensive to repair. Several families are homeless and currently we have no power at the school!

Im Dorf neulich gab es einen furchtbaren Sturm.  Über 15 Hütten / Häuser wurden zerstoert.  Strom Masten sind umgefallen, u.a. auf den Dach der Schule. Eine furchtbare Situation! Kein Zuhause mehr für mehreren Familien, kein Strom für die Schule!

Latest Developments February 2019 / Neuigkeiten Februar 2019

Finally we have succeeded in bringing drinking-water quality water directly to the school for the use of students, teachers, the cantine and our workers. Not only is there a tap in front of the school, the water being pumped from the nearest borehole, but our elevated water tank is in position and provides a constant supply of water. We are delighted!

Endlich haben wir es geschafft trink-qualität Wasser direkt zur Schule zu bringen. Ein Wasserhahn direkt vor der Schule, sowohl unsere hochgestellten Wasserspeichertank, sorgt immer für Wasser. Das Wasser wird vom Bohrloch in der Nähe gepumpt.  Wir sind überglücklich!

New, much needed, toilets are also finished.  Four have been completed. We require eight, as well as desired showers, for the school. We have well over 400 children attending school now and sanititation and hygiene are important factors.

Vier Toiletten von acht sind fertig geworden. Duschen wären auch wunschenswert.  Über 400 Kinder gehen zur Schule, daher sind Sanitäranlagen und Hygiene sehr wichtig.

RFS Snackbar Fundraising / Spende Aktion

2017 Weihnachtsspendenaktion RFS e.V. / Christmas Fundraising at RFS e.V. 2017

Nocheinmal haben die Schulern und Lehrern von der Regensburgerfremdsprachenschule sich fleißig engagiert, um Geld für zwei gute Zwecke zu sammeln- Schools for Zambia and das Frauenhaus, Regensburg. Durch das Backen und Verkauf von unglaublich viele Leckerein, kamen 600 Euro zusammen.  Für alle, die mitgemacht haben, ein großes Dankeschön!!!! 

Once again the pupils and teachers at the Regensburgerfremdsprachenschule have been busy raising money for two good causes - Schools for Zambia and the Regensburg Safe House for Women and Children.  By baking and selling an unbelievable range of delicious traets, we managed to raise €600. A big thank you to all who were involved!!!!
